Pint-sized perfection

I don’t normally showcase other building scales, but I couldn’t go passed these Mini Modulars by de-marco.  The level of detail that de-marco has captured in these four buildings is awe-worthy.

de-marco Mini Modulars

My favourite is the bank, followed closely by the second from the left, which I’m guessing is a townhouse.  Although small in scale, de-marco has made the bank look like a grand building with an imposing entrance.  I also love the shop front on the bakery. What’s your favourite?

10225 Assembly Square

LEGO have released high resolution images of the Assembly Square (10255) due for release on 1 January 2017.  The Assembly Square is the largest to date, with over 4,000 pieces going into building the three distinct buildings.

10225 Assembly Square

The Assembly Square probably looks a little familiar as it pays homage to ten years of modular buildings.  Which features of the past modulars can you spot?

We have a little while to wait to get our hands on this set, so here’s a link to the glorious high resolution images for you to drool over until then.

Here’s LEGO’s official description:

Schrippenkneter’s Bakery

The Bäckerei Schrippenkneter by FiliusRucilo is one of those striking modular buildings that grabs your attention immediately, but it is not until you look a little closer that you appreciate it for all the details.

I particularly like the tile facade, window sills, and the inline windows in the roof, which itself is a feature.  I also quite like the clocks and the planter box.

The Bäckerei Schrippenkneter is fully furnished with the bakery shop on the ground floor, bakery kitchen on the first floor and a studio apartment on the top floor.

Head over to the Flickr album for more image of the interior and exterior of this gorgeous building.  Make sure you check out the clever industrial dough mixer!

Double Delicious

Whether you are after a sweet treat or something more salty, you can’t go past peedeejay’s Bakery and Fishmonger.  Inspired by the Pet Shop, peedeejay has built not just one, but two gorgeous 16-stud wide modulars.  Both buildings are fully furnished with a shop downstairs and one-bedroom apartments upstairs.

My favourite of these is the one on the left, I think partly because the lower level reminds me of my favourite sweets – all sorts – while the upper facade is a great mix of colour and textures.

The rears of the buildings also have plenty of details to catch the eye, such as the cute bay window and the terrace on the upper floor.

Head over to EuroBricks or peedeejay’s gallery for more images of these gorgeous buildings.
