Hitting the high notes

eliza-musicstoreEliza (Elizabeth Nevermind) has hit all the high notes with the four storey Music Store.

Dark Red and Dark Blusih Grey are one of my favourite combinations for modular buildings.  Eliza has taken this a step further, with depth in the facade created by the colour and texture variation in the brick work.

I love the details on the cornices, especially the use of the bow and arrow pieces and the 1×2 Technic bricks on their side.

Other details that caught my eye were the fire escape on the side of the building and the “Music” sign.

On the inside, the ground floor of the Music Store has a range of instruments on display.  My favourite details are the keyboards and the bongo drums.

Modular Hat Shop

ModularHatShop

Eliza (Elizabeth Nevemind) has created another gorgeous, 16-wide modular building – the fully furnished Hat Shop.

The Hat Shop is packed with loads of interesting techniques and details, such as the SNOT work in the first floor window trims and balconies, and the technic connectors in the ground floor window frame.

I love the subtle colour variations in the roof tiles, which add depth and character to the building. A similar effect is created with the headlight bricks below the ground floor window.

Eliza also challenged herself (not sure whether intentionally or not) by limiting the floor plate to 16×16 – it’s no mean feat creating this amount of detail in such a small space!

Thanks for the inspiration, Eliza!

Sweet Tooth

If you’re a sweet tooth, the Modular Candy Store by eliza is sure to have something to satisfy any sugary craving!  The facade was designed to look like a 1890s iron facade and is just gorgeous.  I love the colour scheme and the clever use of the ladder piece to create the trim above the shopfront.

The inside is fully furnished with a pick-a-brick equivalent, but for sweets, as well as a party room to make the most of all the sweets on offer.   See it on flickr!
